Seeking the Descendants of Clara Falcy Raddatz Foy (1933)

Wednesday, June 28, 1933

One aspect of my research is to try to locate family members of Pepito and Joanne, to see if they have any photos, clippings, or scrapbooks to contribute to this research project.  Finding anything like that in someone’s attic would be a big help to my research.  Unfortunately, Pepito’s wife, Joanne Perez (birth name, Margaret Zettler), was an only child, and her father passed away when she was a girl.  If Joanne gave any photos or clippings to family members, it would have most likely been her mother’s sisters and their families.

Using Ancestry.com, I have found that Joanne’s mother Janet Falcy (sometimes spelled Jeanette Falcy), had two sisters, Clara Falcy and Lenore Falcy, and they grew up in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.  Lenore Falcy died young, so I have been trying to trace Clara Falcy.  I recently found a clue in a newspaper archive.  See the newspaper clipping above, from the Hammond Indiana Times, June 28, 1933.

Clara Falcy was born in Wisconsin in 1887.  She married a Mr. Raddatz and moved to Indiana.  Then Mr. Raddatz passed away.  She remarried to a George L. Foy.  It was a second marriage for him and for her.  Then Mr. Foy passed away in 1933.

The obituary mentions that George L. Foy had a son named Harry Foy.  I am trying to jump off from that point into modern records to figure out what happened next.  I DID find Social Security Death Index records for a Clara Foy and a Harry Foy who each died in Wisconsin, so I was wondering if perchance the stepson and the stepmother both moved back to Wisconsin at some point after Mr. Foy died.

I do not know if Clara had any children with Mr. Raddatz, or whether her only child would be the stepson Harry Foy.

I hope that someone in the Foy family remembers Clara Foy.  Maybe there are some more branches of the Foy family that I need to contact …  maybe Clara remarried AGAIN and died under yet another last name.  I just don’t know.

Every day, more and more old newspapers get scanned and are available online, so I check back often, and find new clues.  Eventually I hope to figure this all out about what became of Clara.

If you have any information about Clara Falcy, Clara Raddatz, Clara Foy, George Foy, George L. Foy, Harold Foy, or Harry Foy, please contact me using the Contact link in this website.
